The agreement, signed February 2nd, was drafted by an ASA committee composed of Chairman Hal O'Neill, Ray Connett, Sol Stern and Vice President Bob Johnston. It called for termination of the contract by April 1st. As of that date, Elysium ceased using the ASA Seal of Approval and the words "Official Journal of the American Sunbathing Association on Nudism Today or any of its other publications. This means that issue No. 38 of Nudism Today is the last which will carry ASA endorsement.
Nudism Today became "official journal" of the ASA in 1963. Published by Ed Lange, long-time nudist and photographer, it won considerable support during its first years. More recently, however, it became the subject of intense controversy because of the nature of its contents.
